Publishing reporter Jane Friedman recently encountered an incident of her own regarding both Amazon and GoodReads along with a series of books clearly pretending to be her with her name attached to a series of AI-generated books. While we might have some differences of opinion, I think we all agree upon one thing: Amazon’s handling of impersonators, copyrights, and theft is questionable.

More Amazon Copyright Issues

Amazon Copyright negligence involving the unauthorized use and distribution of thousands of titles.

I’ve been digging around and talking with other authors about the Copyright issues that’s happening with Amazon. I just discovered at least 1,000 more unauthorized books by Personalized JoyCraft on the site. The best part? Other authors have been reporting this all along and Amazon has done nothing to stop it. Instead, they’re profiting from it.

I just came across an unathorized copy of my work, The Art Nouveau Coloring Book: Hats, Cats, & Vintage Romance which is sold on Amazon, now being sold by a third-party independent seller on Amazon. This version is listed as being spiral bound.
