More Amazon Copyright Issues

Amazon Copyright negligence involving the unauthorized use and distribution of thousands of titles.

The whole thing about Personalized JoyCraft posting other authors’ books on Amazon, which I might add they haven’t even purchased prior to reposting, them for sale just keeps going. It’s a very deep, possibly illegal rabbit hole which Amazon has allowed to continue without any repercussions. What I have unearthed is happening on a massive scale. Instead of defending authors, they appear to be allowing third parties such as this to continue their operations while not hesitating to come after innocent authors such as myself and Julie, to name just a few.

I performed a direct search on Amazon using the term, “Personalized JoyCraft.” There are 75 pages (and likely far more) containing 15 links each to other author’s works that were re-listed for sale in a different format without any author’s permission. Also, keep in mind that no author has given Personalized JoyCraft any permission whatsoever to reuse their cover images let alone alter them.

So let’s break down the math:

15 alternate listings per Amazon page X 75 pages = 1,125 books this person or group is selling.

And I think Amazon only stops at 75 pages. There’s far more to explore, but you get a base amount. We’re talking thousands of authors on Amazon this group is doing this to, largely through Amazon’s own permission and profiting. Then the best part is that I discovered even MORE groups under different names recently.

It also turns out that a VERY large number of people have complained and Amazon Content Review refuses to stop it. Meanwhile, my book has a slight sniffle and they yanked my title down without any due process? Yet some like this can can get away with this and Amazon gladly takes a cut?

Makes perfect sense.

I also came across two or three (I’ll have to check) other Subreddits that talk about Personalized JoyCraft doing this to their titles, and Amazon has done  absolutely nothing to help us out..

I ended up hearing back from Julie Kitzes that I mentioned in my previous post. She’s fairly busy at the moment but I have a feeling we’ll be touching base again soon. I don’t want to speak on her behalf for now but I think it’s safe to say we’re both on the same page.

I have a lot more to say as well as more links to post so please stay tuned.
